Windswept and Groovy

This is the McDermott paterfamilias trying to stand upright, during a ferocious wind, on one of the beaches along Tralee Bay. I was in London for the week on business and I brought Shane with me. I left him with the folks to be spoiled rotten, while I flew on to London for the week. At the weekend I flew back to Ireland to spend some time at our house on the Dingle peninsula. It being March the weather was predictably - unpredictable. We were taking a leisurely stroll along the beach when a short and furious storm came out of nowhere. The wind howled so loudly it scared the bejaysus out of Shane. It blew over almost as soon as it had begun, leaving us soaked despite our gortex garmentry.  Posted by Picasa

Jays, we fellow Limerickians have a house nestling near the beach below Caherconree ourselves. A great spot. Don't forget to cross the Conor Pass for some of Keiran Murphy's superb ice cream - icecreamireland.com - next time you're on the peninsula. He's got a great little blog on the go.
